HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY DAN!!!!
It is hard to believe that 30 is here! It sounds weird to say that Dan is turning 30 .
I remember thinking how old 30 sounded!
For Dan's 30th I invited some friends from church over that we have really gotten to know well.
I had everyone come over around 6pm and I kept it a surprise.
To make sure that Dan would come home right away, I told him the girls had invited me to "girls night out".
I didn't tell the kids until the morning of, and Carlee was very excited about decorating and having a party for daddy!!!
So, we spent the whole day decorating, running errands and getting all the food ready.
It was a lot of work, but fun too!
When Dan pulled up, everyone was already here. I think the big "30" sign on the front door gave it away :). I ordered BBQ and made pasta salad, baked beans, creamed corn, grean bean cassarole, and mac n cheese. We then had cake and ice cream and he opened the cards his friends brought.

We had a great time together!

Camille's Baby Dedication ~ Sunday, July 6th ~ First Baptist North Spartanburg

Camille's Baby Dedication went very well. Camille's NeeNee and PaPa (my parents) came up to see her. Her Grandma and Grandpa Yacoviello were unable to come down since they had been here the month before visiting. We missed them!
I think we were a little nervous about Camille being a bit fussy (since that is usually her nap time), but I woke her up and fed her right before, and she did very well! We were super nervous about Nicholas-- he's in the "I don't like a shursh" (as he says it) fase, and there were also many fun things up on the stage for him to get into. However, Dan held him and he did very well. While the Pastor was holding Camille and praying her dedication prayer, Nick did find it amusing that we were up on the big screen behind him. He kept calling his Daddy and telling him to look at baby.
After church we went out for lunch.

Beautiful little Camille!

Gifts she received: Mommy & Daddy- silver heart bracelet with her name on it and a doll. NeeNee & PaPa- pink teddy bear. Aunt Nancy & Uncle Larry- rhinestone bracelet.

July 4th, 2008

We had a very fun and festive July 4th! In the morning, Chris and Hope Poteat (some friends from church) invited us over for some swimming. This was the first time Camille wore her swimsuit (it finally fits her). She pretty much napped in mommy's arms the whole time. Nicholas doesn't really like large things filled with water, whether it's a pool or lake or ocean- he prefers rain puddles and sprinklers. So, he pretty much played outside the pool and also enjoyed their trampoline. Carlee loves to swim- she's our little fish! She stayed in the pool pretty much the whole time and enjoyed swimming around with her floaty on. She also jumped off the diving board for the first time with a little help from Chris. Mommy was a little nervous at first but she liked it so much she did it 2 more times!

Going under water . . .

YEAH! She did it! Mr. Terrance (who gave her swim lessons) would be proud!!!

After swimming, we came home so the kids could nap while I baked some cookies and made Pizelle cookies (Grandma Yaco would be very proud). At 5pm we headed outside for our street cookout. Nick and Amy, Mona and Alex, Joe, and our family all headed next door to the Snyder's house. Carlee and Nick were of course very excited to eat dinner with John and Katie (the 4yr old twins that live next door). We had a great time hanging out, eating and talking with everyone. It did start to rain, but luckily there was plenty of room in the garage for everyone to sit and talk. The kids enjoyed playing in the rain. Nicholas enjoyed the waterguns, in which he squirted at people several times! Camille was very content just sitting and watching everyone around her.

Nicholas had so much fun with the water gun. The funniest part was when he walked over to everyone and looked right at the gun and squirted himself in the face.

At around 7:30pm friends started showing up at our house for fireworks. Every year we open it up to anyone who wants to come. We had watermelon, sugar cookies, pizelle cookies (not waffles!) and ice cream. We had quite a crowd show up; the Sapps, Poteats, Chappells and Skippers all came. While it was still light out, we enjoyed some of the AWESOME kiddie fireworks that Carlee and I picked out (and Dan made fun of). The kids really did enjoy watching them. The smoke bombs and snakes were the most popular! Then at 9pm we enjoyed the much larger (and louder) fireworks. They continued until around 10:45pm.

Me making Grandma's famous Pizelle cookies, which everyone thought they were waffles!Grandma would be so proud!!! Out of the 3 platefulls I made, there were only about 6 cookies left!

More snake fireworks.

Carlee enjoying a bite of yummy watermelon!

Carlee (unlike her brother) really liked the fireworks this year! She wasn't afraid and was so excited to just sit there and watch all the pretty colors. This is her doing a sparkler.

Grandma and Grandpa Yacoviello down for a weekend visit.

Dan's Parents, Carla and Rick, came down for the weekend. Carlee was so excited. This was the first time that I really saw her take to them and really
understand that they were Grandma and Grandpa!

They arrived Friday evening. On Saturday morning we went to Reedy River Park downtown Greenville. The "Saturday Market" was going on, and Carla and I each bought a gourd bird house that a lady had hand painted. We then ate at the famous hot dog shop and then walked around the park for a while. It was super hot that day and the kids enjoyed playing in the sprinklers. After a hot day at the park, we ordered pizza- Mmmm!!! The kids had a fun time visiting with Grandma and Grandpa- Nicholas liked Grandpa's BIG shoes best! We always have a great time when we are together. We hated to see them leave the next morning.

Father's Day at Lake Lure, NC

I wanted to do something fun and different this year for Dan for Father's Day. Afterall, the past year has been CRAZY- with me being so sick during the first 5 months of my pregnancy and then Dan switching jobs and the birth of our 3rd. So, me being the last minute person that I am, decided on Saturday night that I would search until I found somewhere to "get away" for the afternoon. We ended up going to Lake Lure, NC. It is a really pretty Lake nestled in the mountains. They have a beach style swimming area and also a little water park. It was nice to spend the day just enjoying each other as a family!

Camille- 2months

I turned 2 months on May 27th. I am eating more and some of my clothes are getting too small- mommy seems to be excited about that! At my 2 month Dr's appointment I weighed a little over 8lbs. Mommy likes to squeeze the new forming rolls on my legs and she also loves kissing my dimpled cheeks!

2 months old- May 27, 2008.

Smiling for the first time- BIG SMILE!

Naptime- shhh!

My Accomplishments this month: I finally got on somewhat of a 3 hr. schedule - I know Mommy was very glad! The spuratic eating and napping was keeping her very busy . . . especially at nighttime! I also decided to sleep through the night for the first time-it felt great! Mommy says that I am such a good baby- I only cry when I'm dirty, hungry or tired. I love it when people show me some attention by holding and talking to me! I learned to make sounds with my mouth and smile. My sissy made me laugh for the first time too.

Visiting with Grandma Yacoviello.

Who do I look like? Mommy says I look like Daddy, for sure! I have his fair skin, and light hair as well. I have dimples in my cheeks like my sister Carlee, and Mommy thinks my hair will be curly like my brother Nicholas. Mommy laughs at my feet . . . she says they look like Daddy's (my second toe is longer than my big toe just like daddy's!). However, I think my eyes will turn out to be brown just like Mommy's, Carlee's and Nicks.

Enjoying time with PaPa and NeeNee at their house.

Fun things I got to do this month: Grandma and Grandpa Yacoviello came down for a weekend. Grandma loved admiring me and Grandpa held me as well. We went to Reedy River Park in Greenville for the day. Mommy also took me, Carlee and Nicholas to see "NeeNee and PaPa" for a few days. For Father's Day we took a day trip to Lake Lure, NC. I enjoyed sitting in my tent in the shade!
