~Isle of Palms~
Charleston, SC
Wild Dunes Resort
July 17-20th, 2008
This year we definitely didn't want to miss out on a summer trip to the beach, but we knew with a new little one we didn't want to go anywhere far. So, we decided to try a new beach we had not visited before.

WILD DUNES RESORT on THE ISLE OF PALMS ~ CHARLESTON, SC

DAY 1: Our Arrival . . .
On our way down to Charleston, we stopped for some shopping at the Tanger Outlets and grabbed a bite to eat. We then went to our destination to check in. After dinner we took the kids to see the ocean. They were VERY excited and couldn't wait!

This restaurant was beside the one we ate at on the way down.
I had to take a picture with Camille. :)

This is where we stayed. The first picture is a picture of the villas. We stayed on the right side. The second picture is our place- the living & eating area. Below is the kitchen area, bedrooms and bathroom.

This is the Boardwalk at Wild Dunes. Condos line the walk and at the end are two pools and a restaurant facing the ocean. We came here often!

The beach! They were so excited!

DAY 2: To Market, To Market . . .

A storm was coming through and it was suppose to be rainy and gray all day. Carlee was desperately wanting to swim, so we took them to the pool first thing in the morning. It started to rain, so we decided to go downtown Charleston to the Market. We bought a few small things and then went to see 'Trademark Properties' (which had a show on TLC). After eating some lunch we decided to go back to our place and hit the beach. It stopped raining for a while and the kids had a great time in the sand! Carlee was very excited when daddy found her a sand dollar.

Two beach bums.

Nicholas very excited that we are having his favorite for lunch- PIZZA!

Day 3: A Seashell Hunt . . .

I told Carlee that she and I would get up and go down to the ocean early, and have a seashell hunt. We had a great time looking for shells. We found a bucket full! She enjoyed showing them to Daddy and Nick. After Breakfast, we hit the pool and the beach. It began to rain, so we went to 'Edgard's Pub' for lunch. Daddy then took Carlee and Nick for a bike ride. After the bike ride we went back to the beach to take some pictures and then had ice cream.

Day 4: Good Bye Isle of Palms . . .

Before leaving, we took the kids to the pool for one last swim. They enjoyed themselves and had a great time! Carlee does great now swimming all by herself with her swimmysuit on- she even swims with her head under water! Nick loved jumping in, and tried his best to swim by himself with his swimmysuit- we are still trying to teach him that the pool water isn't for drinking yuck!
